My test for vit b12 came as 159 and minimum is 187. Should weekly injections be enough to treat the problem?

Yes take injection x 5 days then once a week x 1 month then continue with oral.

Yes injection is needed.... Bcoz we consider vit b12 level to be above 200 normally

How are u r symptoms? Injections help in fast recovery of symptoms... Are u a strict vegan? ..not taking even milk or eggs?..if not u need to give detailed history to know y u got B12 deficit.. And that decides if u need injections life long or just for few days
