After how many days of using steroid drop in eye IOP can rise?? Tonometry test painful?? I hv used steroid drop in march for 3weeks then in may for 4days... May it rise intraocular pressure of my eye??
Hello .. IOP usually increases after 1-2 weeks of steroid use
So usually we call patient for follow up after 1 week of starting steroids. And it happens in few who are steroid responders . Tonometry test is not painful since we can use anaesthetic drops before testing. And there are non contact methods for IOP measurements too.
It’s not recommended to use steroids only for 4 days. Steroids should be tapered and stopped.sudden stop of steroids can reactivate the symptoms and signs
