Very difficult to concentrate at studyin
I find it very difficult to concentrate at reading and listening. i quit my job to study. i love what i study, i am a phd student. i hated the job because it was difficult to concentrate at work.
i can concentrate while working on an assignment, or to a less extent while watching a recorded lecture video, but not reading or sitting in a lecture.
i've been seeing a psychiatrist and getting medication for multiple problems. psychiatrists refuse to give me stimulant. i dont have severe ADHD, but...
Attention and concentration problems can be because of Depression, Anxiety or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or ADHD. Stimulants are required only in case of ADHD. There is hesistation amongst Medical practitioners in prescribing stimulants as they are Schedule X Drugs and carry abuse potential. I personally think that whenever required in best interest, stimulants should be used.
Diagnosis of ADHD in adults requires information from person who has knowledge about your behaviour in childhood (usually parents)
