Varicose Veins Laser Surgery

Dad has varicose Ulcer.. He has varicose veins but no Deep Mein thrombosis.. Doctor has suggested for varicose veins laser operation.. Further he said our legs has 2 types of veins.. one wherein 10% of the blood is taken to heart.. and the other deep vein from where 90% of the blood is taken to the heart.. Since he does not have deep vein thrombosis he can be treated through laser treatment... Just wanted to know how safe is the laser treatment for varicose veins and side effects.. further does it reoccur.

Safe ,very less chances of side effects.Need to follow post-op rehab (exercises etc)properly so that recurrences can be reduced.

Laser is new modality of treatment for varicose veins and is safe. Usually there is no side effect of this operation. Same site recurrence does not occur. But this can reoccur in another veins.
