There is a very wide range of normal for vaginal opening size and appearance, and what looks "wider than expected" is almost always within normal variation. The vaginal opening is elastic, and its resting appearance has nothing to do with virginity or how it will feel during intercourse. Many women feel this concern before their first gynaecology visit, and once examined, they are reassured within minutes.
Next Steps
Please book a routine gynaecological consultation whenever you feel ready. A single visit with an examination will settle the anxiety completely and let you ask any other questions you have been holding. Choose a female gynaecologist if that feels more comfortable, and you can ask for a chaperone to be present.
Health Tips
Please do not use any tightening creams, herbal washes, or vaginal douches. These are marketed heavily but can cause irritation and infections, and there is no medical need for any of them.
