I had gone a root canal treatment of first left molar 4 to 5 months ago,as it was paining after 5 sittings still the doc filled permanent filling,pain continued & doc removed the permanent filling after that temporary filling was put inside & i went to tour & since cannot visit the doc,suddenly the pain started again 10 days before & have consulted another doc who is redoing the rct again as he says that abcess is generated,but after taking medications & 2 sittings it was ok,but again pain has started today & it comes & goes ,can this tooth be saved ?

Hi.. Chronic infection cases take lot of time to settle down. Sometimes a month. Here patience is required both by patient and doctor. Finally the pain comes down. But, sometimes in worst cases you may have to do surgery or extract the tooth. Wait for your dentist's final call. Regards

May be it can be saved that we can tell only after seeing the x ray sometimes even your teeth abcess has not come down you wil have pain it will take time to settle because you had a long history of infection
