Typhoid vaccination
Dear sir / mam
I want to ask for my 1 yr old daughter. Is Typhoid vaccine necessary or mandatory?
I want to ask this as this is an expensive conjugate vaccine only available in private clinics.
Yes it is recommended for all by Indian academy of pediatrics as typhoid is a serious and common disease. The person affected by this disease requires admission for a couple of weeks and it is now resistant to many antibiotics nowadays. So vaccine is recommended by WHO also in countries where this disease is common in india. you should take it if you can afford it

Typhoid vaccine is available as conjugate vaccine and only single dose is recommended from 9 months age or up.
Not available in govt sector so u will have to take it from pvt clinic.
