Patient's detailed medical history is required. It is recommended to consult a doctor professional through the Practo app or visit a local medical facility for a thorough evaluation. Please keep in mind that detailed medical history is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Hi, High Altitude primarily affects your cerebral (brain) and pulmonary (lung) systems and some peopleheight may be more prone to a high altitude sickness than others. If this is not your first visit, you might be aware of the effects on you. Cold itself can be effectively prevented with the use of appropriate clothing and layering. High Altitude Sickness symptoms however include headache, malaise, anorexia to breathlessness and sometimes decreased blood oxygen levels.
Next Steps
Prevention involves slow ascent, giving your body time to acclimatise. Consider staying for atleast 4-6 hours at a lower altitude and then proceeding ahead and avoiding rapid ascents. Medications are not recommended and must be avoided for a healthy person without lung issues, however if the planned ascent is going to be more than 500m/day(altitude) or the person has a history of such symptoms in the past, Tab Acetazolamide 125 mg oral twice a day starting 1 day before ascent till end of ascent can be used.
Health Tips
It is emphasised that the medication is prophylactic for high risk persons as mentioned and must not be used if the conditions are not met. You may contact for further clarity
