Rct is a process in which the pulp (blood vessels and nerves)-of the tooth is removed and replaced with a dental filling material. The entire process is done under local anesthesia and the process is completely painless. After the process, the tooth is reduced in size to make space for the cap. The cap needs to placed to restore strength of the natural tooth since the tooth becomes brittle after rct. The cap can be metal, metal with ceramic or a full ceramic. Implant is a process in which a screw is placed inside the bone by drilling it(surgical process) and then a tooth (like a cap)is placed over the screw.

In this treatment, the canals in the roots of the teeth which germs from a cavity have infected are cleaned. They are then sealed to prevent reinfection in future. A root canal treated tooth needs a cap or crown to prevent its fracture. A cap can be made of ceramic, metal or metal-ceramic.
