What is the difference between pulpotomy and root canal in terms of treatment for 3.6 yr old?

Good morning madam Pulpotomy as name suggests partial removal of the pulp which is present in pulp chamber and infected one and leaving behind the healthy pulp by dressing it

Pulpotomy is removal of only the infected part of the pulp and covering it with a dressing and leaving the vital pulp in the roots intact.
