Dear practo user
Since you said you don't want to visit a dentist, which, actually doesn't cost too much to fix a dislodged crown, here are some points to consider:
1. Two months is a long period, and changes will occur in your gums and teeth, the space may become smaller and the crown won't fit properly.
2. To avoid this problem, we advise you to replace the crown whenever you can, without any cement, at least for some time of the day, clench on it, and keep it for some hours. This way, we can make sure the gaps are maintained. You can remove it when you brush, eat , chew or if you just don't like it in the mouth.
3. Completely avoid chewing hard objects on the natural tooth. Be gentle and make sure it doesn't fracture.
4. Maintain good oral hygiene four to five times a day using Betadine gargle mixed in warm saline water.
The actual time we tell Our patients whose crowns dislodge, to return to us, is within 48 hours. But you have 2 months. So care has to be taken just to prevent gap closure, and not for normal chewing. Don't use the crown for chewing. Use it when you have time to take care. Clean it well before you place it on the tooth. Clench your teeth and it will seat. Clean your tooth also well before placing the crown.
Practise placing the crown several times.
