Second trimester (4th–6th month) is the safest period for definitive dental treatment like root canal treatment (RCT).However, if pain is severe or persistent, emergency dental care is safe in any trimester with proper precautions and gynecologist consultation.
What can be done with proper dentist and gynaecologist consultation
Temporary pain-relief procedures such as:
1)Pulpotomy / partial pulp extirpation
2)Temporary dressing
These can significantly reduce pain until definitive RCT is done.
Medications such as Paracetamol (Dolo 650) is safe but may not control dental pulp pain completely.
Avoid self-medication unless prescribed by a doctor.
