I have slight swelling in tongue and I have been to e doctors. One said macroglossia and other one said it's glossitis not macroglossia. What is the difference between the two conditions glossitis and macroglossia?

Macroglossia is the abnormal enlargement of the tongue in proportion to other structures in the mouth. It usually occurs secondary to an underlying disorder that may be present from birth  or acquired. Symptoms associated with macroglossia may include drooling, speech impairment, difficulty eating ,stridor ,snoring, airway obstruction, abnormal growth of the jaw and teeth, ulceration snd dying tissue on the tip of the tongue. The tongue may protrude from the mouth. Glossitis means inflamation of the tongue generally caused by infection, injury, irritation from spicy food, tobacco or poor diet and poor dental hygiene. I think  glossitis sounds more correct .
