Good morning,
TMJ issues are many and complicated too. It's almost impossible to tell you what you need without examining you. However, I may say that TMJ issues are very less in your age and the most common causes may be -
- Teeth not in proper alignment or occlusion
- teeth grinding habit
- sleeping on one side (right or left side sleeping) with hand supporting and applying pressure on the face / jaw region in the sleep. When this happens, the lower jaw will be pushed to the opposite side causing muscle and TMJ issues in the long run.
Usually TMJ issues are treated by -
1. Medications
2. Physiotherapy (includes exercises, lasers etc)
3. Appliances
Next Steps
- correct your sleeping posture and do not support your hand on to the jaw or use your hand as pillow to sleep, in case you are doing so.
- if not visit a dentist to get the issue diagnosed. you may visit me too.
