Pain is minimal (much lesser than extraction pain) which is controlled by medication. It is not required to replace wisdom teeth.. why was it removed? There is usually no space.

There is minor pain which is easily managed by painkillers. It is the best alternative available in the Dental world though. Highly recommended.
