Tibia fracture

I have undergone tibia and fibula fracture 4 month ago and undergone titanium plate surgery but recently i am suffering from swollen leg and redness my orthopedic surgeon told me to remove it. Please suggest

Plates can't be removed in 4 months. This may be a infection, that's why the surgeon is suggesting implant removal. Get CBC, CRP and ESR tested.

This could be an inflammation or infection. If the fracture has healed then implants can be removed.
Next Steps
Get blood tests done - CBC, ESR & C Reactive Protein (Quantitative). If CRP is raised then consider implant removal.

If it is infection / redness better to remove it once it is healed. If only swelling - no need to remove it. Swelling might be there upto two years
