Beckman Caliper has been in vogue for few years. It is a new method of expressing results of biological measurements so that inter-individual variations and intra-individual variations can be minimised. All it did was that the range of "normal" was narrowed But it has not been widely accepted because in clinical practice we are not much concerned about the variations available in the Society. We are concerned with an individual.
In this scale (caliper) the normal is considered as 0.3 to 2.0.
Frankly, today I read it for the first time and it is not very clear. Let me see if my understanding improves with repeated reading.
