Thumb problem Half red and swelled thumb

I don't know but something yellow type stuff suddenly got attached to my Thumb yesterday when I tried to remove it (Due to the pain) it got vanished and It made my thumb to swell very badly... And now it feels painful when I touch the Area... And that thing didn't even gave me a wound... Suggest a swell treatment for this please?
