My son is 5 years old. Since few months we have been noticing a small round shaped bony like structure in right hand wrist under the skin. First he said its not painful but now there is very little pain when lightly pressed. I have attached a photo of the wrist. Please suggest.

Hello dear The mass that you have been noticing off late is a ganglion and is quite common. Now since there is hardly any pain i am least worried for it resolves spontaneously in more than 80 % cases. However, if the pain increases or if the swelling increases in size, he needs to be seen. May be a ganglion/cyst. Get xrays to rule out bony mass.
