What's the healing time for a tension headache? I am suffering from one since last 2 months and now on medication by a neurologist. Doctor has prescribed me amitrypline 10mg.

After taking analgesics, usually the pain starts decreasing after 2 to 3 hours. As far as the question of duration of the illness (tension type headache ) is concerned, it's variable. Relaxation, meditation and adequate sleep and maintaining day night cycles help reduce it apart from analgesics.
