Hello. Please do not worry. It is completely safe, and there is no need to be afraid. The medications prescribed to you are standard, very safe, and extremely effective for managing anxiety and physical stress symptoms. Understanding Your Medications & Reassurance: Propranolol (Capinol / Ciplar LA): While Propranolol is used for high blood pressure, it is also one of the most widely used and effective medications for Anxiety. It works by slowing down a racing heartbeat, reducing hand tremors, and calming the physical symptoms of fear/panic. It does NOT trigger a heart attack—in fact, it protects the heart from the harmful effects of excess stress hormones. Escam Plus (Escitalopram + Clonazepam): Nausea and mild stomach upset are very common mild side effects during the first few days of starting SSRI medications like Escitalopram. These initial side effects typically vanish completely within 3 to 7 days as your body adapts to the medication. Why Abruptly Stopping Isn't Ideal: Stopping anti-anxiety medications abruptly after taking them irregularly can cause sudden rebound anxiety, making you feel more fearful.
Health Tips
Take Medications with Food: To prevent nausea from Escam Plus, always take it immediately after a meal or snack rather than on an empty stomach. Avoid Searching Side Effects on Google: Online search engines list all possible indications without clinical context (like listing BP for beta-blockers), which can trigger unnecessary health panic. Trust your prescribing doctor's clinical evaluation. Do Not Change Doses on Your Own: Take the medications strictly as prescribed by your doctor every day at a fixed time to allow them to build a stable therapeutic effect in your body.

Escam (if it is escitalopram) and propranolol are different medicines and propranolol can be prescribed for physical symptoms of anxiety. Propranolol can, however, cause dizziness, weakness, slow heart rate and low BP. A heart attack is not an expected effect simply because you took propranolol, but new chest pain with breathing difficulty should be evaluated rather than attributed to the medicine. Do not restart or change these medicines without discussing the exact dose and indication with your doctor. You may consult me on Practo with the prescription and current symptoms for appropriate guidance.

Propranolol helps to relieve anxiety as well. Get thyroid function tests done and share results. Then I can help you further.

Escitalopram can commonly cause nausea when starting treatment. Propranolol LA 20 mg is not a ‘heart-attack medicine’; it is also used for symptoms such as anxiety-related palpitations. Taking it for only 1–2 days and stopping is unlikely to cause a serious withdrawal problem Prescription: No new medication without consultation
Next Steps
please consult the prescribing doctor before restarting or changing either medicine.
Health Tips
Try not to Google individual side effects repeatedly, as this can increase health anxiety. If severe chest pain, fainting or breathing difficulty occurs, seek urgent medical care

Since you took both irregularly, please have a consultation to review the exact doses and decide safely whether to continue or change them.

Medicines such as propranolol can have effects on blood pressure and heart rate, so the response can vary from person to person. Taking it for only a short period does not automatically mean that it has caused any serious problem, but I would prefer to understand why it was taken, the exact strength, how much was taken, and what symptoms you experienced afterward before giving you specific advice. Please consult me with the prescription or medicine strip and your current symptoms, so i can review it properly and reassure you appropriately.
