If you are talking about wrist ganglion s more common on the backside of you wrist than front...then surgery is usually the more reliable way of treatment. Even after surgery there is a high rate of recurrence of the ganglion about 30 per cent .Meaning there is about a 70 percent chance that your ganglion will not come back.
If you go for something non operative like a needle aspiration and perhaps a steroid injection ..you haven't really removed the problem so there is a very good possibility that it will recurr.
Of course your doctor needs to examine you clinically to see what kind of ganglion you have and where and perhaps do some further tests to give you an exact diagnosis and treatment plan.
