If you are talking about wrist ganglion s more common on the backside of you wrist than front...then surgery is usually the more reliable way of treatment. Even after surgery there is a high rate of recurrence of the ganglion about 30 per cent .Meaning there is about a 70 percent chance that your ganglion will not come back. If you go for something non operative like a needle aspiration and perhaps a steroid injection ..you haven't really removed the problem so there is a very good possibility that it will recurr.
