Swallowing and pain around ear

I have been suffering from pain and swallowing around ear.due to this I'm unable to eat and chew food.sometimes i feel like there is pain inside the ear sometimes i just feel it around it.its been 5 days I'm still under recovering. Is it some serious problem or just normal ear infection?
