It's great that you’re following your doctor's advice and managing your blood sugar levels with medication and diet. Here’s what you should know about continuing medications: --- Do You Need to Continue Taking Tablets Even After Blood Sugar Normalizes? 1. Yes, it is usually important to continue the medication — even if your blood sugar levels are normal: Diabetes is a chronic condition, and the medication helps to keep your blood sugar levels in a healthy range and prevents spikes or crashes. If you stop the medication too soon, your blood sugar levels could rise again, even if you feel fine. 2. Why Medications are Important: Type 2 diabetes (which seems to be your case) requires consistent management to prevent complications like heart disease, kidney problems, nerve damage, and more. Even if your sugar levels are normal for a while, stopping the medication may cause sugar levels to spike again, which can be dangerous over time. 3. What Happens After 1 Month Review: After your one-month follow-up, your doctor will assess how well your blood sugar is controlled. If you’ve been following a strict diet and exercise plan, your doctor may adjust the dosage of medication, or in some cases, reduce the dose if you’ve made significant lifestyle changes. 4. Always Follow Doctor's Advice: Your doctor may decide to keep you on a lower dose of medication or continue with the current regimen depending on your response. Never stop medication abruptly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better or your sugar levels are normal. --- What You Can Do in the Interim: Continue with your diabetic-friendly diet and exercise regularly to support your medication. Monitor your blood sugar as per the doctor’s guidance and track any changes.

It’s great that you are monitoring your sugar levels and following your doctor’s advice. Whether you need to continue medication after reaching normal levels depends on your overall diabetes control, lifestyle, and your doctor’s assessment. Do not stop your tablets without consulting your doctor, as stopping too soon might cause sugar levels to rise again.
