Sugar craving

I am an otherwise healthy person, except for ireegular periods / pcod / hormonal disorder (read: once in 3-4 months, running for approx. 3 weeks or more). I generally crave sugar a lot. I have the usual sugar in my tea/coffee, other than that I have 2-3 cream biscuits in the evening, some toffee during the day and if I go to the supermarket, I pick up some small chocolate or cream roll. While I understand having a sweet tooth, I sometimes find this excessive and worry this might make me diabetic in the long run. And it is unhealthy but I feel unable to resist sugar. There is no history of diabetes in my family yet. Is there a medical reason for all this sugar craving? And would consulting a dietician help in any way?

Hello, Gaining weight continuously can be due to a lot of reasons. Suggestion is to get checked for any underlying medical condition. -Exercise daily for an hour (Can be at home or simple exercises like running, jogging, brisk walking, on the spot marching, squats, etc) -Include protein in your diet (taking protein rich foods post workout helps in muscle building) -Increase fiber in your diet (Will help you stay full) -Include fruits and vegetables in your diet (2-3 serving) -Water intake of atleast 3L per day -Add healthy fat like nuts to your diet. -Avoid/Exclude fried, sugary and junk food -Eat a balanced and healthy diet -Do not skip breakfast as 40% of days energy is from breakfast NOTE: The above mentioned practices can change according to a specific medical condition.
