Hello. Need more elaboration of this problem. What’s your father’s age? Loss of breath? Since when? Does he has any other symptoms? Did you witness your father stopping breathing? Does he have any other conditions like Diabetes, Heart problem or Stroke? Needs online consultation with a physician or pulmonologist.

can be because of sleep apnea..does he snores and has sudden multiple awakening epsiodes during sleep..?? need more detaield history for diagnosis. consult a pulmonologist!
