It is hard to go through this sort of pain.
It's important that you recollect the core negative experiences with your friend at first.
Then recognise what type of a feeling you are experiencing, name it.
Instead of that feeling what do you intend to happen? Now choose that new feeling with your mind, in your body and in your relationship with others. Gradually you would overcome it.
