He has squamous cells carcinoma in left vocal cord. Grade 2 and stage 1. Which radiotherapy is more effective.? Please mention the technology used for radiotherapy

Hi. Stage 1 vocal cord cancer has 90 to 95% survival rate. It’s best treated with image guided radiotherapy (IGRT). As larynx or voice Box moves with swallowing, the patient is asked not to swallow during treatment and daily treatment fields are verified using online CT Scan ( CBCT ) in IGRT technique. Total number of radiations will be 28 and dose will be 63 Gy.
Health Tips
During radiation there will be decrease in voice quality and miild difficulty in swallowing which are temporary. So during treatment patient will be advised to have voice rest and have soft diet.

Stage 1 ca vocal cord has a very good prognosis. Overall survival of 90 to 95 %. Image guided radiation therapy will be the best option.
