Sore throat and visible epiglottis

Hello doctor From last 2-3 days i am Having sore throat which feels like there is dust stuck in the throat. When i looked in the mirror at the back of my throat little tip of my epiglottis is also visible but it is very deep down sometimes visible and sometimes not. I am very scared due to this please help me what this can be.

Some people have a very open throat area and epiglottis may be visibler no need to worry about that. Regarding sore throat please get it checked by ENT to look for redness/swelling or infection so that appropriate medication can be started.

The epiglottis is normally visible it’s nothing to worry about. For the sore throat do gargle with betadine 1tsf diluted in half glass of water three times a day. Take tablet lorfast am bed time.

Epiglottis is normally visible in many persons. So there is nothing to worry. But yet if you are suspicious of any abnormalities then go for Fibre optic Laryngoscopy of throat.
