Sonography to be done before or after MC

Hi, I had spotting issue last month and periods got delayed too by 15 days. Am not married with 40 age and no pregnancy. To do sonography, should i do it before next cycle periods or after periods. When is best time for best results. Any prerequisites to take care of Thanks in advance.
