It's miserable to have this problem at young age.
But, it's a very common problem.
Till the time it's mild posterocentral compression with protrusion, and no significant neural compromise, it can be treated with conservative modalities and preventive actions.
If there is no sensorimotor deficits or power loss, a conservative trial with medication should be given, following which exercises should be done.
The condition cannot be cured completely but the intensity of pains can be significantly reduced.
If severe compression on MRI playes and positive clinical findings, then operative intervention can cure permanently.
