Sometimes not getting sleep itself provokes anxiety which further disturbs sleep and provokes further anxiety. Such vicious cycle then continues. You may practice simple sleep hygiene techniques initially to get proper sleep, have a healthy lifestyle, practice yoga/meditation etc to begin with. If still sleeplessness continues, consider consulting a psychiatrist to help you.
Oh...but it needs to be evaluated either due to primary cause or secondary insomnia.
Depending on that you can be given either benzodiazepines or antidepressant.
