Second opinion for laproscopic surgery

Diagnosed with a paraovarian cyst of size 5.2 cm *3.6cm near right ovary and have been suggested to undergo laproscopy in order to avoid risk of torsion as it is there from few years now. So wanted to know if it is really necessary? As I don't have any major issues because of it but seems it is enlarging slowly.
