Second month pregnant got severe cough

My wife is second month pregnant and she has got severe cough and cold, fever is not that high. Due to her cough she is getting stomach pains. I'm worried as it should not cause any problem to baby which is under development. Any medicine to be taken at this circumstance or follow home made remedies etc kindly help someone
