Can I take the fecal calproctetin test to ruleout ibd? I have been having unexplained constipation lately since months, no blood but yellow stools, stools are kind of rough textured, sometimes mucus feeling when i wash my anal area after bowel. Also feeling nauseous occasionally, nausea is not severe but very mild. Please help. To understand if i can take this test and if this looks like ibd.

Features are not suggestive of IBD. Fecal calprotectin is mostly used as a prognostic marker of IBD on treatment, to assess response to therapy. Normal calprotectin level doesn't rule out IBD. Only complete bowel evaluation including upper and lower G.I. Endoscopy and small bowel evaluation can confirm the diagnosis.  You may have constipation of varied reasons. Need to evaluate.
