Rubella vaccine after Lasik surgery

2023-04-20 16:42:59
My wife got a lasik surgery done on 9th April. Presently, she's only using 3 eye drops (includes a steroids eye drop) as recommended by the doctor. We are also planning for a baby and the gynecologist mentioned that if she gets period this time, then she should take a Rubella vaccine (R vac). 1. Is it safe to take Rubella vaccine especially when she's using eye drops daily 2. Doctor has prescribed R vac. However in the nearest hospital only MMR vaccine is available. Can she take any of these?

Yes she can take rubella vaccine. Better to take R- vac vaccine. Pregnancy should be avoided for atleast 3 months post vaccination
