Does rtms treatment for depression cause any neuronal damage or harm to the brain even at a microscopic level? What if someone has mild issues and took this rtms treatment for 30 sessions without a real need. Does this cause permanent functional changes in the brain? Or harm anything? Please guide.

Current scientific evidence *donot* show that rTMS cause neuronal damage, even at the microscopic level. There is minimal side effects with rTMS If it was advised for the patient and patient underwent the sessions, donot panic. It is almost always safe
