At 26 weeks of pregnancy, right-sided lower abdominal pain radiating to the thigh is quite commonly due to round ligament pain or pelvic girdle pain, especially if it worsens with movement, standing, or changing posture. These are usually benign. What can help Rest and avoid sudden movements Change positions slowly (especially getting out of bed) Use a pregnancy support belt Warm compress to the area (not hot) Gentle stretching as advised by your doctor Sleep on the left side with a pillow between the legs However, please consult your obstetrician urgently if any of the following are present: Persistent or severe pain Fever, vomiting, or burning during urination Vaginal bleeding, leaking fluid, or reduced fetal movements Pain associated with abdominal tenderness (to rule out appendicitis, UTI, kidney stone, etc.)
Next Steps
Schedule a clinical examination with your obstetrician. They may advise urine tests or an ultrasound if needed. Most cases are harmless, but it’s always better to get evaluated during pregnancy for reassurance and safety.
