Right Shoulder Mobility Problem

2020-06-19 18:46:19
My dad is having frozen right shoulder and facing difficulty moving his arm in 360 degrees around ball and socket joint of shoulder. There's pain when arms are moved after a certain point but there's less to no pain at rest generally. Suggest medicine for frozen shoulder.

Hello dear Thanks for reaching out Frozen shoulder is a loosely used term for majority of the shoulder conditions as not many understand the shoulder joint problems properly. Now if he has got a true frozen shoulder or not, can only be ascertained by physical examination. A few answers might help though: 1. Whats his age? 2. How did the problem start? 3. Has he had any injury? 4. Has she had long standing recurrent neck pain? 5. Does he have increased pain at night and difficulty sleeping on the affected shoulder side? 6. Which movements of shoulder are affected, as in what work he can and cannot do? The mainstay of frozen shoulder treatment( if he has it ) is focussed physiotherapy exercises ( gradual not forced) . Aim is pain relief and not achieving motion by forcing it.. Forced manipulation can damage more structured around the shoulder. Non responders to physiotherapy or slow responders are given intra articular injections which hasten the recovery. Absolute non responders are taken up for arthroscopic surgery Regards Dr Vipin Gupta

More important are shoulder exercises , cold/hot fomentation , ointment . Frozen shoukder is a self resolving condition but it takes time 1 -1.5 y . Physiotherapy helps recover early . For the pain antiinflammatory medicines help , else shoulder injections help.

If secondary to any preexisting disease, correct that also. Treatment is exercises for times a day. Take any anti inflammatory with muscle relaxant tablet.specific tablet can only be prescribed y personal consultation, since it’s dependent on many factors. Give hot foamentation before exercises.
