Age 54, Right lateral Malleolus fracture, it's been 8 weeks and 2 days. She is on cast. I would like to know when she can walk normally. She will be travelling out of country on March 23. It will be 12 weeks by then. I want to know when she can start practice walking before travelling. When can the cast be removed. Does she need a walking boot Or ankle support. She has stabbing pain once in a while, and that lasts for 15-30min. And while she is sitting, the leg swells, and once she lies down and elevates the position of her leg with pillows, the swelling goes down. Is this normal during recovery from the fracture?
