Hello I'm Dr Nikita Iyer. If you are having long term allergies causing runny nose and recurrent sneezes you must start a nasal spray along with an antihistaminic. However taking an antihistaminic everyday for a prolonged period of time without any effect means your body has gotten used to it.
Next Steps
Preferably visit an ENT doctor for a nasal check up and start with a steroidal nasal spray and antihistaminic for the initial 15 days with a follow up to check on the symptoms.
Health Tips
It is important to know the trigger to make some lifestyle modifications like AC or dust can trigger recurrent sneezing, for which using masks during such exposure would help. If the symptoms are prolonged and causing a lot of discomfort, you can get a skin prick test to determine the allergens causing this in order to take the needed precautions. Remember allergy is a body response so there is no complete cure to this just alleviation and reduction of symptoms with regular cycles and lifestyle modifications.
