Removable full denture

My father's age is 69. His all teeth were removed around 10 yrs back. Then he got removable full dentures done. But he did not feel good in that as those were not of good quality. He used to have vomiting when he used to keep the denture. Then he just removed the denture. Now from last 9 yrs, he is not having dentures. So my question is that can we again go for  new set of  full denture for him. He does not want to have fixed denture. But he is willing to have removable full denture. So please help to take us the decision for this. Then we can go for further consultation.

Your father might be having an exaggerated GAG reflex, which might be due to many factors such a  somatic, psychogenic, congenital or systemic factors. I Need to perform a gag test and determine a gagging score on a D&F gagging index. Once the index score is determined, I can proceed ahead with the right kind of denture material and technique to be used. Since you do not want implants you can go for complete dentures again.

Health Tips
The management of these types of cases are simple but the determination of cause is difficult. Hence i advice you to consult a specialist Prosthodontist.

Yes he can get new dentures. You can opt for better quality materials which result in thinner dentures and are more comfortable
