Its general question about tonsillar carcinoma. Patients should be asked for any habits like smoking, alcohol, any chronic irritants. If any one of these history is there, risk of cancer can be suspected. There are some causes where these habits wont be responsible, like lymphoma.
Needs proper examination and gross growth seen on tonsil, then need for biopsy to know the type of cancer.
Treatment of tonsillar cancer is treatable and there are many modes radiotherapy, if biopsy type not favorable need for surgery, but finally has good prognosis, responds well
