Hello Doctor, Please help me to recognize when will my child starts speaking. He is now 2 years old. Speaks single words like Aai Baba Anna Aappa, Aam. Need help

Its advisable to visit a pediatrician/ developmental pediatrician. By 2 years average kids have a vocabulary of around 20 words. But development has to be seen in total ie other development like comprehension, non- verbal communication, social and motor developments. So my advice is to visit a pediatrician/ developmental pediatrician once . He will evaluate and let you know if he requires hearing test or any other testing or you can wait.

If he can speak at least 3 MEANINGFUL words,relax. Of course,for normal speech development,a normal hearing is mandatory.
