Regarding HTO operation
My mom(of 49 years) is suffering from right knee grace 4 Astro Arthritis, in left knee grace 3 astro arthritis, she had suggested to under go HTO operation By Dr.ParameshKC(Orthopedian surgeon, mysore). may i know the success rate of the HTO operation?Is this the only solution for this problem?is this solution of life time?

HTO is a offloading procedure done to shift stresses from medical compartment to lateral compartment .
Although HTO is not a replacement option for TKA. But results have shown it to postpone TKA requirement by 15-25 years if done in experienced hands.

Very good results is done by expert and for the right indication...
But recovery take 3 to 6 months.. talk to ur surgeon... the effect may life time but mostly a time buying procedure in young patients where alignment correction can help...
And one more thing nothing lasts lifetime...
