You are a Mini Rajnikant in the making. You can see the saliva of a cat falling on the bamboo and you immediately touch it. I am wondering what was the distance of the bamboo from the place where you were standing and why you suddenly got the urge to touch that bamboo shoot immediately thereafter.

Rabis does not generally spread from inanimate objects. The virus does not survive in outside environment for more than few hours. You are safe.

Hello, Rabies is primarily transmitted through direct bite or saliva contact into a fresh wound or mucous membrane from an infected animal. In your case: The risk is extremely low, since the saliva touched an object (bamboo) before reaching your hand. Rabies virus does not survive well outside the body, especially on dry surfaces or in open air. Indirect contact through an object is not considered a typical mode of transmission. If the cat is a pet and healthy, or you can observe it for 10 days, there's even less reason to worry. No vaccine is needed unless there was direct bite or deep wound exposure to confirmed rabid animal saliva. Still, if you're anxious or unsure about the cat's health status, consult a local physician for personalized advice. Take care!

You’re likely safe. rabies is not transmitted through indirect contact like cat saliva on bamboo. If the cat is healthy, and there was no bite, no vaccine is needed. See a doctor only if the cat was stray or acting abnormally.
