On 22 nd November 2024,i experienced a cut in iron gate.. it was a deep cut thus I thought I should take a tetanus injection... But pharmacy guy told me it's not needed as i already took tetanus injection in 3 Rd November,2024 ... Now today wound is swelling and sometimes pus are coming out and some faint pain is happening,so I went to meet a doctor who is specialised in gastroenterology, prescribed me to take clavum 625 and a ointment and as some burning sensation in urination happen so he asked me to do a urine RE and culture test before taking antibiotic... Should I do the test tomorrow and take antibiotics from tomorrow or should I now take antibiotics and it can be done after 2 weeks after completion of antibiotics... please share a opinion I'm attaching the pictures of my hand... Is clavum 625 sufficient for this cut

You are already taking Clavum for your injury. Clavum also has some effect on UTI. You should get your urine culture done and wait for the report before you change your antibiotic or add another antibiotic.

I’m sorry to hear about your injury and the complications you’re experiencing. Based on the information you provided, it seems like your wound might be infected, which is why your doctor prescribed Clavam 625 (a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid) and an ointment. Clavam 625 is generally effective for treating bacterial infections, including those of the skin and soft tissues12. Regarding your question about the urine test and starting antibiotics, it’s typically recommended to perform the urine test before starting antibiotics. This is because antibiotics can affect the results of the culture test, potentially leading to inaccurate results. However, given the signs of infection in your wound (swelling, pus, pain), it might be necessary to start the antibiotics sooner rather than later to prevent the infection from worsening. Here’s what you could consider doing: Start the antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor to address the infection in your wound. Perform the urine test as soon as possible, ideally before starting the antibiotics. If you can’t do the test immediately, inform your doctor about the situation. It’s important to follow your doctor’s advice closely, as they have assessed your condition in person. If you have any doubts or if the symptoms worsen, don’t hesitate to seek further medical attention.

You don't need TT injection again. You need antibiotics and other symptomatic medicines.

Hello. Good you have added the picture. Firstly regarding Tetanus vaccine , it is effective for a period of 5 years. So you do not need the tetanus injection. Also the wound does not look really infected. The antibiotic prescription is enough. The urine routine can be done in case for burning urination and if there is an infection then different antibiotica are needed for that. Advise drinking plenty of fluids meanwhile.
