Prevention of Herpes(any medicines?)
I recently tested positive for HSV 1+2 IGM 1.28.
But the IGG is below 0.50 and negative.
My main concern is, before even waiting for the test results, a girl and me got involved in sexual contact. We had kissed a month back and she did not test positive for it few days back. So i have a few questions, as I care for her safety more than mine. And due to my stupid idea of not waiting for reports first, she is crying and I want to ensure she doesn't face any problem at all!
1. She got exposed today, is there any medication that can prevent her chances of getting herpes? Just like PEP medication for HIV? Please say yes :(((
2. My hsv 1+2 IGG is negative, is it possible that iGM is false positive? Should I repeat the test in a different lab?
If yes, what test should I do!
Please help me out as she is crying non stop and i feel like i ruined her life. Please please doctors, help me out.
I am responsible for her suffering and I want to make it right for her.
