My father aged 82 suffering from Parkinson's disease. Recently a bed sore is growing with redness. Is antibiotic is needed ? Can I give antibiotic like lizolid 600? He has fit problem.

No need of antibiotic unless it is infective or if required debridement. In Initial stage of Bed sore... Change the position Every one hour to one side if patient is bed ridden. Use Hydrocolloid dressing over the bed sore area or use air mattress. Care has to be taken if stool soiling is there

Antibiotics is the last choice for bed sore sir... Please contact me (plastic surgeon) or some other plastic surgeon for management of bedsores... Don't deny and don't go to any other specialist! U need to follow some basic steps to avoid worsening the bedsore... So kindly contact a plastic surgeon as soon as possible
