I am 18 weeks pregnant today. I have posterior placenta. I felt movements like tapping continuously in the evening on my 17th weeks for like 2-3 days and then its been 5-6 days or maybe one week. I have not felt any movements. My last ultrasound was on 30th april where everything was okay and then i got fetal heartbeat checked on 17th may and it was present. My anamoly scan is scheduled on 19th june. What should i do? Is it normal to not feel any movement this early? Or should i do a fetal heartbeat check again.

You don't feel foetal movements at 17 or 18 weeks. Regular foetal movements are felt only after you complete 18 weeks. In a few cases the movements are not felt till 22 weeks. Please consult your Gynaecologist. He may make you hear the foetal heart sounds by a Doppler. You should also get a sonography scan done. I hope TIFFA has already been done

For first pregnancy it’s normal to feel movements around 20 weeks. It is possible that few women feel baby movements from 17-18 weeks onwards. So don’t worry schedule your ultrasound for level two as planned. Just keep a watch on this feeling of movement but can’t advise to do ultrasound just to check for that. If you are too worry, you can get it done for better clarity and to understand your exact issues, please consult online.
